About my Retail Ramblings
This blog is dedicated to those who walk the retail road. That special world of capitalist necessity where we are the key players of our company's success or failure. We are the bridge between the tower of stockholders and CEO's and the ever winding road of public demand. We are the smiling faces, the everyday problem solvers, the dutiful hands of efficiency. We are the enforcers of the decisions made by corporate at the same time we are the compassionate ears conveying the desires of the customer. We are the miracle workers, the peacekeepers and the underestimated. I am your neighborhood friend swooping in at the last frantic second to save your seven year old's birthday and the wise cheese connoisseur eager to help you prepare the most important meal of your life; the night you propose to your wife. We celebrate with you the birth of your new baby and go out of our way to make planning easier for your grandma's funeral. Whether it be to fill your basket to try a new recipe or help you save money to make it stretch through the week, we are the unassuming guardian angels that walk with you through every day life. Yet, despite our critical presence we are often unappreciated, thought to be disposable. Our blue collars silence our influence. This space is reserved for those ramblings of retail. Here I will share with you the life from a different perspective, the world I see from my side of the counter.
